Introduction To Hybrid Technology

Posted by admin  Published in Hybrid car

A hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) is a vehicle which combines a conventional propulsion system with an on-board rechargeable energy storage system (RESS) to achieve better fuel economy than a conventional vehicle without being hampered by range from a charging unit like a battery electric vehicle, which uses batteries charged by an external source. The different propulsion power systems may have common subsystems or components.

Regular HEVs most commonly use an internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric batteries to power electric motors. Modern mass produced HEVs prolong the charge on their batteries by capturing kinetic energy via regenerative braking, and some HEVs can use the combustion engine to generate electricity by spinning an electrical generator (often a motor-generator) to either recharge the battery or directly feed power to an electric motor that drives the vehicle. Many HEVs reduce idle emissions by shutting down the ICE at idle and restarting it when needed. An HEV’s engine is smaller and may be run at various speeds, providing more efficiency.

HEVs became widely available to the public in the 1990s with the introduction of the Honda Insight and Toyota Prius. HEVs are viewed by some automakers as a core segment of the next future automotive market. Today, we are embracing multiple energy sources because there is no single answer available for the mass market.

In 2007, several manufacturers have announced that vehicles will use aspects of hybrid electric technology to reduce fuel consumption without the use of the hybrid drive train. Regenerative braking can be used to recapture energy and stored to power electrical accessories, such as air conditioning. Shutting down the engine at idle can also be used to reduce fuel consumption and reduce emissions without the addition of a hybrid drive train. In both cases, some of the advantages of hybrid electric technology are gained while additional cost and weight may be limited to the addition of larger batteries and starter motors. There is no standard terminology for such vehicles, although they may be termed mild hybrids.

The 2000s saw development of plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs), which can be recharged from the electrical power grid and do not require conventional fuel for short trips. The Renault Kangoo was the first production model of this design, released in France in 2003.

Hybrid Technology

Posted by admin  Published in Hybrid car

Hybrid cars are considered to be one of the major development in the automobile industry. The main reason for the invention of hybrid technology is to conserve fuel and to protect our environment. And today, these cars are getting more popular among the people because of the features it has got.

Most of the people are now planning to buy a hybrid car of their own, because of the quantity of fuel and money you save from it. Even though the prices of these cars are expensive than conventional cars, you get a lot of benefits from hybrid cars and you can get your money back by saving lot of fuel. However, if you compare and see the amount of money you spend for fuel on both conventional and hybrid car, you will see that hybrid cars are much cheaper that conventional cars.

In addition, when you buy a hybrid car, you also get tax discounts. This means that you can even save money through tax breakage also. Along with this you will also make our environment much better, because these cars emit less smoke than conventional cars.

Now you came to know the benefits you gain from a hybrid car, and now you want to know how this technology works and what makes it consume less fuel.

Hybrid technology was invented quite a long time ago, but only now people started to recognize the benefits of this technology.

Hybrid: as the name it self suggests that it is a combination of two sources. Yes, a hybrid car uses two sources of power to run, one is the gasoline engine and the other one is the electric motor. The concept is simple whenever the car is running idle the gasoline engine stops automatically and the car runs only with the help of electric power emitting no smoke. The gasoline engine starts automatically when accelerator is pressed. This saves a lot of fuel especially when you have stuck in a traffic jam.

A hybrid car can cost you at a starting price of $25,000. You may feel that it is expensive, but you can get your money back by reducing your fuel expenditure.

Hybrid Cars- The Cars OF the Future

Posted by admin  Published in Hybrid car

If you are planning to buy a new car, then consider of thinking about the future, instead of buying the same old conventional car. The car of the future is available today, which is far better than ordinary cars, and these cars are environmental friendly. These cars are known as Hybrid cars.

The prices of the fuel are at constant rise, day by day they are even increasing. Moreover by the use of conventional cars air pollution is also increasing in our environment. So the only solution for the both crisis is, to find a vehicle which is fuel efficient and environmental friendly.

Today with the development in our technology, you don’t have to panic about the rising fuel rates or air pollution, because most of the car manufacturers are implementing the modern technology in their cars called hybrid technology. Nowadays manufacturers are using hybrid technology in their new models. Some car producers have started a separate unit in their factories for manufacturing hybrid cars.

Toyota and Honda are the two leading car manufacturing company considered today, who produce the best hybrid cars, since, hybrid cars are fuel efficient and are environmental friendly. With no doubt these cars are going to be the cars of tomorrow.

Hybrid cars run on a combination of two fuel sources, gasoline in the gasoline engine and electric power in the electric motor. With the help of this technology, you will be able to save fuel expenditure by half. So, with this sort of benefit, you will certainly have a desire to own a hybrid car of your own. On the other hand you must completely understand the concept of a hybrid car or at least have an idea about it.

A Hybrid car runs on two engines, one is the electric engine and the other one is the gasoline engine. When the car is running idle, gasoline engine will automatically gets switched off and your car now runs only with the help of electricity. Only when you press the accelerator the gasoline engine starts by it self. This saves you a lot of fuel, particularly when you are struck in a traffic jam.

Moreover, when the car is in motion, both the motors share the job of running the vehicle. So this is the main reason, why hybrid cars emit less smoke than normal conventional cars.

Moreover Hybrid cars help you to save lot of money by consuming less fuel. On the other hand these cars are environmental friendly, and help us to control air pollution. So the day is not so far, where most of the people would be driving a hybrid vehicle and save fuel, and also protect our environment.
